Glenbrook Golf Course is a Public, 18 hole golf course. Located south/southeast of downtown Houston, Texa, Glenbrook is managed by the Lopez Management Group and overseen by the Houston Parks and Recreation Department.
Glenbrook first opened for play in 1935. The course was redesigned in 1960 by Robert McKinney.
The course terrain is undulating with an interesting layout. This target course puts a premium on careful shot placement and pinpoint accuracy. Most holes are risk-reward holes and accuracy off the tee is a premium, and well-executed approach will pay dividends. Water hazards come into play on ten holes. A wide river that runs through the course comes into play 3 or 4 times. The river requires a number of forced carry setups. The course may be a bit challenging for beginners due to the force carries. Walkers may find the course a bit long as one has to cross the bayou on long bridges several times. Water hazards come into play on ten holes. This is one of eight municipal courses within the City of Houston.
